SOLIDWOOL Spellbinder
An experiment in building a guitar from Solidwool, an amazing sustainable and tactile material made from surplus wool and bio-resin here in the South West of the UK
The idea was to build a unique looking and resonant instrument using as many low-impact materials as possible and to avoid the use of wood entirely. It features:
A chambered Solidwool body
Solidwool neck with weight relief
Bamboo fingerboard with clay dot inlays
Cork body binding
Greencast recycled acrylic pickguards
Old stock or reclaimed hardware, knobs and pickups.
